Hi
Does anyone else suffer with the constant urge to squint (cross your eyes)? I feel so alone with this. I have an urge to do mental tics, which sort of involve getting the 'right feeling' in my head by seeing these vague black blobs, at the same time. I try so hard to not squint when making conversation with people but it is very hard. I have to avert my gaze a lot. I really hope that somebody out there identifies with me and will respond. It's very hard to explain to others what is going on. I am 39 and diagnosed with tic-related OCD. Thank you Gardengirl |

Hi! Glad you found us.
I had squinting as a tic when I was younger and still do every so often, where I just squint my eyes a few times till the compulsion fades away. Not the same as yours, but you're not alone for squinting ^_^ |

Hello
Thank you so much for responding to my post. I have not been back to this board in such a while, I'm afraid, so this is the first time that I have seen your reply. It is helpful to know that I am not alone with this, with the squinting. It is still a huge problem for me - it is such a handicap but I know it doesn't have to be and I am working on making it less so. You say that you still squint every so often. Do you find yourself doing this when you are in conversation with people so that you find yourself wanting to cross your eyes when making eye contact? Please tell me how you cope? Gardengirl |

I have heard that botox makes it difficult to squint. Maybe it's just what you need to help you move on to something new.

Thank you for your reply, Arlene, but when I say that I 'squint', I mean that I 'cross my eyes' [strabismus is the medical term, I think], rather than just narrow my eyes as one does when looking into sunlight. Gardengirl
