  • Is there any place that speaks to schools?

My 9 year old son has tourette syndrome and it has gotten much worse the last few months to the point that it is affecting everyday life dramatically. He is going back to the tourette specialist in Toronto on the 26th. His teacher and principal at his school have been wonderful and have suggested someone come into the school to speak to his class.
I have contacted our local chapter here, but so far no response.
Am I aiming for the right spot? Is there some other place that does this?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Lit,

Welcome to the TSFC Forum! I suspect the reason for the delayed response from your local TSFC Chapter is because of the National Meeting currently taking place in Montreal.

I am not sure if the Toronto Chapter has members available to provide in service teaching, and the people who can answer the question are at the meeting.

We can provide you with more precise info after Monday Oct 24.

You could also call the National Office in Toronto for more info.

If an in service presenter is not available, the TSFC National Office has an Educator's Resource Kit, which is an audio visual presentation for the school staff of a school attended by a child with Tourette.

Please keep us informed of the progress you make, and let us know how we may help further in getting you the resources you need.

    Regards,
    Steve
