  • Popping in to say Hi!

    Hi All

Just wanted to take a few minutes to share my story and make myself available if anyone needs support. I am 39 and a Mother of 4 great boys. My oldest is 13 and was diagnosed with TS at the age of 9, from his diagnosis came my diagnosis... like many hindsight is 2020. My life and childhood make so much sense now! My TS is milder than my sons but like many have shared it's the comorbidity that impacts our lives more than he tics.

Well with education and knowledge came my obsessive need to analze my younger boys to ensure I was proactive with them. My 7 yr old has been followed by our specialist since 4yrs and now we have "the Diagnosis". My other two sons are twins, double trouble for sure. They are 4 1/2 and start school in Sept. They start their sessions with our "TS doctor" in July... the long anticipated reality is quickly approaching.
I am actively involved with our local TS chapter in St. John's, NL and I am involved with the TSFC at a national level. I am involved with the Education and Advocacy Committee and the Adults Issues Committee.

I work full time but have recently gotten to a point in my personal and professional life that I have some time to participate in this forum. One of the many benefits of ADHD is the ability to juggle many things.

Hope to talk to some of you in the future.
    Janet

    Welcome!

Sounds like you've got your hands full... those "ADHD abilities" certainly seem to come in handy. ;)
