    Hi again everyone,

I was here a couple of months back (thanks for all your help back then) concerned that my son was showing symptoms of TS. We finally met with the child psychiatrist today for a 1 1/2 hour appointment. He said ds is "text book" for TS with OCD and ADHD. Ds had no idea what we were there for or that the doc was observing him the entire time he was playing, drawing etc, so he wasn't supressing any of the tics. For the first time a doc wasn't so blatant that they were looking for tics, that DS wasn't trying to hide them.

We were sent home with some survey type forms for myself and his teacher to fill out, and some things to research. He gave me a list of drugs that might appear in our future so I could do some reading on those. The doc is also going to do some reasearch on the lasting behavioural effects of Prednisone (which ds was on for an extended period of time for Crohn's).

Sooooo...long story short...it looks as if we may get a Dx of TS. In which case, you all may be seeing a bit more of me.

It is good to hear that you are making some progress on getting your son diagnosed. As most parents will attest to, the worst part can be waiting to get to see someone who seems to know what you are dealing with. It sounds like you are in good hands.

How have your son's tics and behaviours been while you were waiting?

I know how horrible the waiting can be. It took a couple years to get his Crohn's diagnosed!!

The tics have been pretty steady, and his behaviour has been about the same. He had a bit of a rough patch adjusting to his new school, but things seem to be levelling off a bit now.

Thanks for the support and I'm so glad I found this site. :D

It is great to hear that you made some progress and most importantly you found a Doctor that listened and understands.

Being a part of the forum can be a good thing, especially when you need that added bit of support at the end of your day.

Hope you will keep us informed of your progress and stages you go through. By expressing what is happening to you, someone else can possibly be helped or directed to push forward.

    Take care..
