Thread: New, Moving and Desperate

    Default New, Moving and Desperate

My son is 11 with ADHD, OCD, ODD and Tourettes. I have my own disabilities but I have been told I don't count lol. Anyways, huge problem... I am being evicted because my son is a 'punk' who swears. DUH. I am so tired of educating the people of Vancouver Island that we are moving to the main land. We are moving to Port Coquitlam as soon as I can get us there... probably within 2 months. I need suggestions on doctors who actually know what Tourettes is, a good doctor that cares not one that just hands out pills. Please I beg of you, I am a single mom with NO help. No one seems to want to help and we are always swept under the rug. I can't do this by myself anymore. I am so close to loosing it. I love my son so much I am willing to relocate to a place I am petrified of because it has the specialists and doctors that he needs. Is there anyone in the Poco area who has Tourettes? I know we are not the only ones.... where are you guys???

    Welcome Kellay!

This sounds like a very stressful time for you and your family. I hope we can offer you some solace. The site has a great search function where you can access specific information to your needs. If you can't find what you are looking for just ask.

Here is a link to the Greater Vancouver Chapter of the TSFC. They may be able to point you in the right direction for medical care as well as offer support.

We are new to this forum too. You are right, you aren't alone. We have always had a difficult time finding answers and prefer not to use meds. Our son's tics have escilated since he hit puberty.
