*Bonus Session Parental Emotions: Keeping Your Emotional "Wheel Alignment"
Presenter: Peter Black, Social Worker

"My talk will be primarily geared toward parents of Tourette plus children and the "emotional" side of parenting. It's on "Parental Emotions": the various feelings and emotional dynamics experienced by parents of TS+ children with leaky brakes, and how these dynamics can hinder or help effective parenting. In particular, I'll be emphasizing the importance of emotional self-awareness for parents by focusing on the specific wrong turns that can occur when they are out of touch with feelings like frustration, pity and guilt. Pointers will be provided on how to maintain proper emotional "alignment" or balance in dealing with these intense and troublesome feelings."
